All the breakfast and brunch spots we’ve listed in this guide are on the below map. They are spread across the 3 main sections of Notting Hill: Westbourne Grove, Portobello Road and Golborne Road.

1 – GRANGER & CO

Occupying a corner position with large windows and a bright interior, Granger & Co have been dishing up crafty food to boisterous crowds since Australian chef, Bill Granger, opened his first outpost in London. 

The weekend queue snaking down Westbourne Grove is due in no small part to their signature scrambled eggs – a luxurious plate of sunny goodness. But, the selection of Australian-inspired brunch options is varied, fresh and seasonal. Corn fritters, kimchi melts and healthy grain bowls are complimented by a full Aussie; all washed down with the assistance of an inspired breakfast cocktail list.

Coffee production is mastered by the experts behind the large marble bar featuring a very serious-looking cold-drip filter.

2 – BEAM

Beam is modern a brunch spot on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill with a warm community feel, an inviting hubbub, and a smart interior energised by rusty orange accents.

If you’re looking for a Notting Hill brunch to feed a weekend hangover, Beam is the place. The Middle Eastern menu consists of huge platter-size portions with a mixed bag of mezze components including halloumi, filo parcels, sausage, hashbrowns, avocado, olives and feta. While it sometimes feels like they’ve had a fridge clean-out, you won’t leave Beam hungry and the service is efficient and friendly.

They serve All Press Coffee and we have no hesitation in saying they do the best coffee on the Notting Hill Brunch scene.

3 – SUNDAY IN BROOKLYN

A relatively new option for brunch in Notting Hill, Sunday in Brooklyn hit the ground running with Brooklyn vibes delivered with London sensitivities. The smart interior with exposed brick and hanging plants is a cool spot to hang out on the weekends.

Their sandwich with scrambled eggs, Gochujang mayo and potato crisps is as scoff worthy as the Don Ruben Omelette with mole sauce. The Sunday pancakes with Hazelnut Praline and brown butter will have you dealing with the guilt for the rest of the day.   

Personally, I think the coffee is a little overpriced for the quality but that certainly doesn’t distract from this great brunch option.

4 – TAB X TAB

Tab X Tab, the semi-industrial looking hang out on the Queensway end of Westbourne Grove, is a trendy café with polished concrete, a semi-open kitchen and a selection of coffee-related products for sale.

The small, well-crafted menu focuses on tasty bites such as an excellent Chicken Katsu sandwich with celeriac remoulade, and eggs on toast with creamy mushrooms. For a smaller breakfast option, their house granola is world-class, or you can grab one of their pastries before they all go.

The coffee is by Kiss The Hippo Roasters and it is crafted to perfection behind a concrete bar with very serious-looking equipment.

5 – FARM GIRL

Farm Girl is a bright dog-friendly café hidden behind a small courtyard just off Portobello Road in the heart of Notting Hill. The relaxed warehouse feel of the space, lined with green tiles, is extended to the food which has a focus on healthy and no-fuss sustainability.

The all-day menu has a selection of inspired granola / fruit / yoghurt combos as well as stacked pancakes, fluffy scrambled eggs and internationally inspired creations. The Seoul Eggs with broccoli, kimchi, feta and chilli oil is both zesty and comforting in one soulful bowl.

They do an excellent Australian-style coffee and ventured into new territory with the Rose Latte – a coffee blended with rose water.

6 – EGGBREAK

Eggbreak is a popular and often very busy, brunch spot in Notting Hill. Set in a converted townhouse, several dining spaces are filled with a homely, pre-loved feel with mismatched chairs, well-worn tables and relaxing music.

They have a varied Middle Eastern-inspired menu with flavoured yoghurts spicing up several dishes. The eggs benedict with tahini hollandaise, aubergine and cream cheese is rich and delicious, and the Mexican Omelette is full of zest. They also have a great selection of sweet treats.  

Coffee is by Origin Roastery which is based out of Porthleven in Cornwall.

7 – KURO EATERY

With Japanese minimalism and a no laptop policy, Kuro Eatery is a relaxing place for a quiet contemplative breakfast in Notting Hill. Although Kuro means black in Japanese, the café is muted neutral tones and clean lines.

The menu has a Mediterranean slant, inspired by the Greek chef, with a small selection of carefully prepared dishes including homemade granola, poached eggs with spiced hollandaise and a very tasty grilled cheese kimchi.

The coffee is smooth and balanced; not a strong wakeup call, but carefully prepared and well presented.

Kuro also has a take-out coffee place next door and a bakery just around the corner on Bayswater Road. For a local Saturday morning ritual, grab a coffee and pastry and head down to the nearby Notting Hill Farmer’s Market.

8 – ELECTRIC DINER

The Electric is a Notting Hill Brunch institution. Set in a cavern-like hideout with cosy red booths and a diner-style open kitchen, it’s the perfect covert location for Notting Hill celebrities.

Fry-up classics dominate the breakfast menu, which switches over to brunch at 12pm offering a wider selection of dishes including an excellent vegan burger and decadent waffles. After several years of going to the Electric, the avocado on toast with poached eggs is still our go-to.

The coffee from Grind Roastery is suitable for one before breakfast, one after and perhaps another to take out while you stroll around Portobello Market.

9 – HENDERSON BAR & KITCHEN

Henderson Bar & Kitchen in the Laslett – a smart boutique hotel in a Georgian terrace house on a quiet residential street – is a stylish Notting Hill brunch option.

The small modern dining room is a lovely place to eat, but the heated outdoor terrace overlooking the regal architecture of Notting Hill is a great setting for brunch.

Breakfast spots are prioritised for hotel guests, so it may be difficult to get a spot. But, from 12pm brunch on the terrace is open to non-guests and it’s the perfect start to a slow weekend. The menu has a wide selection of interesting dishes including substantial salads, burgers, and various forms of benedict.

10 – BLUEBELLES OF PORTOBELLO

For a cosy, homely brunch in Notting Hill, Bluebelles of Portobello offers a great selection of sweet and savoury bites in a relaxed well-worn setting. Located on the Golborne Road end of Portobello, it’s in a great location to enjoy the less-touristy side of Notting Hill.  

The menu spans everything from bowls to buns; toasts to classic brunch dishes. They have a good selection of vegetarian options including a veggie stack with a crispy potato rosti, fried halloumi, avocado and mushroom, and a zesty green breakfast with guacamole and feta.

They also have salads and sandwiches if you find yourself in this part of Notting Hill later in the day; the perfect time to stroll the Golborne Road market.

11 – L’ETO

If you can walk past the enticing display of exquisitely decorated cakes and voluptuous pastries and make your way down to the smartly decorated restaurant, L’Eto delivers a Notting Hill brunch that leans heavily on the posh side of the scale.

The classy eatery delivers breakfast classics with a twist including a clever eggs benedict served on a mushroom puree, with a perfectly crisp hashbrown and fragrant basil oil. The service is a little on the professional side, but it’s a great choice for a smart brunch in Notting Hill.

The coffee was well constructed with just the right amount of acidity to give it a bit of bite.

12 – LOWRY & BAKER

The cute and kitsch Lowry & Baker has an element of originality that is sometimes lacking in other Notting Hill brunch spots. A non-formulaic approach to delivering a classic breakfast puts you among a well-worn space with all the charm of Nana’s kitchen.

The homestyle menu has a good balance of options including homemade granola, decadent pancakes with maple cream cheese and a berry compote, through to healthier options with avocado a key feature. The benedict was delightfully fresh and full of life and the sourdough toast delicious.

Coffee by Monmouth rounds out breakfast in this very cool yet understated café, while the 70s music filled the space with a great energy.

OTHER BRUNCH SPOTS IN NOTTING HILL

202 Cafe (CLOSED) – 202 was a concept store that combined high fashion with a modern brunch menu. Unfortunately, they are no longer open.

Ottolenghi Notting Hill – The original Ottolenghi in London still produces top-quality Mediterranean and Middle Eastern dishes, however, the Notting Hill deli is now take-away only. The daily menu is available from 11am each day.

Golborne Deli & Wine Store – There’s nothing wrong with mixing breakfast and wine, something the Golborne Deli does with style. The breakfast menu is fueled by the excellent produce from their vibrant deli.

Chucs – It’s all style at Chucs with an elegant dining room and hidden garden terrace. The breakfast menu is full of well-presented classics.
