4 Ways How To Get From London To Eden Project (Cornwall)

Are you wondering how to get from London to Eden Project? I have been to Eden Project in St. Austell, Cornwall a number of times and it was one of the most fascinating attractions for nature lovers. Eden Project is a one-of-a-kind greenhouse attraction in the UK that is a popular destination for locals and visitors coming from London. I myself have been here a couple of times and am still amazed by its architectural beauty.

You can reach the Eden Project (Cornwall) from London by train, bus, flight and car. The road distance between London and the Eden Project is 398.3 kilometres or 247.5 miles while the direct distance is 349.2 kilometres or 217 miles. It takes about 4 hours and 37 minutes to travel this distance by car.

OPTION 1: How to get from London to Eden Project by Train

  • Travel Duration: about 3 hours and 57 minutes
  • Travel Fare: from £52

You can take the train from London Paddington to Par, Cornwall. The Great Western Railway services this route. From Par, you are a 9-minute ride away to Eden Project. 

There is no direct train station which will take you to Eden Project. Good thing there are plenty of buses which will bring you there from the station.

Alternatively, you can also take the train from London Paddington and arrive at St Austell. Same as Par, you are just less than 10 minutes away from Eden Project from here.

OPTION 2: How to get from London to Eden Project by Bus

  • Travel Duration: about 7 hours and 30 minutes
  • Travel Fare: from £40

You can conveniently ride a bus to Eden Project from London. You can catch the National Express from London’s Victoria Coach Station and stop at St. Austell. From the arrival point, you can ride another local bus or go by bike or on foot.

Bus trips are limited, so make sure to book in advance so you get to secure a spot. You can check Megabus for the best coach tickets to St. Austell, Cornwall.

The bus ride from London is quite far, so make sure to consider the length of your journey when choosing this option. If you are in a hurry to get to Eden Project, then you might want to skip the bus.

OPTION 3: How to get from London to Eden Project by Flight

  • Travel Duration: about 1 hour and 15 minutes
  • Travel Fare: from £69

There is an airport near Eden Project, which you can fly into. Newquay Cornwall Airport (NQY) has flights coming from London Heathrow Airport (LHR) or London Gatwick Airport (LGW) and these are easy to book via Skyscanner for the best flight deals.

Even with the allotted time for airport procedures, riding an aeroplane to Cornwall from London still seems to be among the fastest way out there. However, don’t forget to factor in the drive from the airport to Eden Project which runs for 25 minutes at least.

If you want to drive from London to Eden Project, it is possible to do so. I actually prefer this option to travel to Eden Project. The driving distance is 398.3 kilometres or 247.5 miles which takes about four hours to complete, depending on where in London you will be coming from.

From London, you can rent a car with Europcar or from Discover Cars and drive your way to Eden Project via M25. There is free parking at Eden, although no overnight parking is allowed.
