My parents are addicted to watching British detective series and other British crime series, and because of them, I have definitely become a fan of this genre too.
On Netflix, you can find a wide selection of detective series from England, Scotland, Wales (and Ireland as well), so I made a handy list for you if you love seeing tv-shows in these countries.
This way, you can make a quiet evening a bit more exciting! Which one is your favorite?
BRITISH DETECTIVE SERIES ON NETFLIX
Bodies
Our new favourite is the mini-series Bodies. Here’s a brief summary: Four detectives. Four timelines. One body. To save the future of Great Britain, they must first solve the murder that changed the course of history.
The series takes place simultaneously in 1890, 1941, 2023, and 2053, showcasing London in all these years, especially the location where they discover the corpse: the Whitechapel district.
Fool me Once
When ex-soldier Maya sees her murdered husband on a secret nanny cam, she exposes a deadly plot that goes far back in history.
Luther
This is one of our most favourite English crime series with the amazing actor Idris Elba! The plot: A dedicated detective tries to keep his private life on track while dealing with the psychological factors that come with crimes.
The Fall
I found this series to be one of the most exciting new English thriller series! The plot: A chief inspector battles her own personal demons while trying to unmask an Irish serial killer posing as a family man.
With actress Gillian Anderson. Truly one of the best British detectives you must see, but quite intense at times, so I recommend watching it together with someone.
Stay Close
When Carlton Flynn disappears exactly 17 years later on the same evening as Stewart Green, a chain reaction is set off in the lives of the people around them.
Marcella
Despite marriage drama, tragic loss, memory problems, and her duties as a mother, a London detective knows better than anyone how to catch murderers.
