The Highside Farm luxury glamping pods, located on the east side of Bassenthwaite, are a wonderful blend of modern amongst mountains!
For the best remote self-catered getaway, each camping pod boasts an en-suite shower room, cosy sofa, Freeview TV, and kitchenette with mod-cons to cook up a storm as you gaze up at the stars or watch your favourite film.

Grasmere Glamping
Grasmere Glamping is part of Broadrayne Farm, which is home to The Yan Bistro serving Cumbrian classics. Broadrayne Farm is a former 17th-century farm and has been rearing Herdwick sheep for centuries, so their famous Shepherd’s Pie at the bistro couldn’t be more locally sourced!
Broadrayne Farm is situated in the heart of the Lake District near the busy village of Grasmere, and surrounded by popular trails to Rydal Caves, Easedale Tarn, Loughrigg Fell, or Helm Crag.
Now let’s get down to this accommodation at this Lake District glamping site! Grasmere Glamping is quite simply a camping holiday with an added luxe-factor. Relish the splendour of a log-burning stove, under-floor heating, LED TV, Bluetooth music system, and all the crockery you’d need for a romantic meal or chill-out with the girls.

Parkgate Farm is located in Holmrook in Eskdale Valley near Ravenglass giving this Lake District glamping spot the perfect mix of landscapes, from the stunning coastline, Wast Water and Scafell Pike.
There are three fully insulated glamping cabins at Parkgate Farm with all the mod-cons you could wish for. You can snuggle up in the open-plan living area with an electric wood burner for the colder nights, and al frescos terrace with BBQ for the pleasant summer evenings.
As well as the glamping cabins, there are grass pitches, holiday caravans, and cottages – a bed to suit every need! They have some friendly donkeys and sheep onsite too, that’s a big tick from me!

If you’re searching for tranquility and creature comforts, The Hut @ Rawsons has your name written all over it.
The private hut is nestled at the foot of Whitbarrow Scar. Being so close to Kendal, the gateway to the Lake District, guests have a range of pubs and restaurants offering Cumbrian dishes, as well as hiking trails to choose from.
The glamping accommodation comprises The Hut (with sofa, wood-burner and record player), The Pod (with king-size bed and luxury bedding), a partially covered outdoor kitchen, upper and lower decking, an outdoor bathtub and shower, and a flushing loo!
The Hut @ Rawsons is the best place to disconnect and enjoy a mindful getaway as there is no WiFi (there is phone coverage in case of emergencies) This ‘off-grid’ accommodation to rest and recharge in nature could be just what the doctor ordered!

Lake District Tipis
YHA Grasmere Butharlyp Howe
YHA Grasmere Butharlyp Howe is an incredible Lake District glamping haven. Not only is it located just strides away from the bustling Grasmere village, but it is close to Easedale Tarn, Rydal Water, Grasmere, and the Langdale Fells.
The spacious tipis sleep four people and come with wooden floors, a lockable coffee table chest, a wood burner, eco-friendly solar lighting and bean bags to lie back and gaze at the stars in comfort.
If the tipi life isn’t for you, try the eco-friendly landpods, tent pitches, or shared and private rooms in the main house where all guests have use of the shared lounge and café for breakfasts and evening meals.
Watching the rare red squirrels in the trees at YHA Grasmere Butharlyp Howe was the best wake-up call.
Waterside Farm Campsite
Waterside House Campsite is a family-run glamping site near Pooley Bridge for guests seeking a serene escape from the modern world. Grab your eco-camping gear and head for Ullswater!
Their tipis come with two single beds, two cube beds, an electric socket, cooking utensils, a gas stove, rechargeable lanterns, and fairy lights. How cute!
The tipis and bell tents sit right on the northern shores of Ullswater. Watching the hypnotic outdoor fire pit and falling asleep to the sound of rippling water is nothing short of perfection.
Other options to experience a wild weekend away at Waterside House Campsite are tent pitches, insulated glamping pods, and luxury cottage rentals.
Wasdale National Trust Campsite
Peace and adventure is the motto for Wasdale Campsite. Located between Wastwater and Wasdale Head, the site has easy access to Lake District’s more challenging fells and woodlands for hikers and mountain bikers.
Their tipis are furnished with a double bed and two single futons with mattress covers, lighting, table, and chairs. Remember to bring your bedding to snuggle by the wood-burning stove.

Lake District Yurts
Sykes Farm Yurts
Syke Farm Campsite is a fabulous location in the tiny village of Buttermere with vistas across High Stile and Red Pike, one of my favourite places in the Lake District.
Each yurt sleeps up to four people and has a log burner and is fully equipped for cooking, sleeping and relaxing in. There’s a separate undercover kitchen, compost toilet, and a main toilet block with hot showers.
Syke Farm has a popular tearoom that offers a Campers Full English Breakfast, and their flavoursome ice cream is home-made from their own Buttermere Ayrshire Cows. Definitely locally sourced!
Lakes Yurts
Lakes Yurts is situated between Cockermouth and Crummock Water, an ideal location for hiking Haystacks, strolling around Buttermere, or mountain biking in Whinlatter Forest.
These spacious Lake District yurts sleep up to five people and have a well-equipped kitchen, cosy wood burner, and solar lighting. As well as the three luxury yurts, there is a cool Shepherd’s hut with a gas stove, kettle eco-showers, and a decking platform with a table and chairs.
The glamping site is positioned on a working family farm so don’t be surprised to wake up to the moo of the cows, and birds chorus.

Full Circle Yurts
Full Circle glamping yurts are situated at the top of a camping field on the gorgeous grounds of the stately home, Rydal Hall.
