Larnaca, Nicosia, Todos Mountains, and Paphos

Hear about vacation to Cyprus as the Newbie Traveler talks to Audrey Scott and Daniel Noll of UncorneredMarket.com about their energetic Cyprus itinerary.

Dan and Audrey say, “It [Cyprus] basically does have some seriously fantastic mountaineering not only in conditions of coastal routes, where you have these lovely, spectacular cliffs and crystal very clear Mediterranean Sea further than. But Cypress also has the Troodos mountains, which I assume the summit is 2000 meters, so a tiny in excess of 6000 ft. When we ended up there, at New Year’s, finish of December, the commencing of January, there was in fact snow in the mountains. So in the system of a single week, we ended up hiking and t-shirts alongside the coastline and sunshine. And then we were being mountaineering in the snow in the mountains. We also uncovered a canyon, and ended up climbing over rocks and boulders.”

“In addition to all the mountaineering, there’s also an amazing history in Cyprus, likely again about 8 to 10,000 several years, so several layers of civilizations from the Greeks to the Egyptians. And so there are some really interesting archaeological internet sites, some geological web-sites also.”

Much of the tourism in Cyprus is mainly because of its wonderful shorelines but this episode focuses much more on the climbing, tradition and record of Cyprus. Audrey and Daniel flew into Larnaca. Just after checking out that metropolis they headed to the southeast corner of the island at Cape Greco. Cape Greco is a countrywide park known for its rocky coast, azure waters and sea caves. 

They then headed to the divided cash of Nicosia wherever they invested time on both of those the Greek and Turkish sides. They explored the markets, a terrific archaeology museum, and a caravanserai. They also took the time for Daniel to go to a community barber and get a haircut… and a bit far more than he bargained for.

They drove to the snow included Troodos Mountains exactly where they hiked all around Mount Olympus. 

Their ultimate end was Paphos which is a occasion town in the summertime, a UNESCO Globe Heritage web-site and a modern European Capital of Culture. It has popular ruins and touristy souvenir retailers. They suggest the beautiful Aphrodite Path which follows the cliffs on the rocky shore and the Avakas Gorge hike. 

Cyprus can be a terrific seashore holiday vacation but it can also be so significantly much more. It has a prosperous culture and deep historical past as effectively as impressive scenery. It also does have some really nice beaches.
