Stitch Fix and Tripadvisor launch TSA (Travel Style Advisors)

With summer vacations on the rise, setting your open-faced luggage on the floor of your bedroom to toss your pre-planned outfits into can cause pondering, stress and second-guessing.

Now, it doesn’t have to.

Enter the new Stitch Fix and Tripadvisor partnership. In teaming up, a fashion-forward version of TSA was born (that stands for “Travel Style Advisors,” much to our delight).

By going to Tripadvisor’s Experience Hub, shoppers can input their travel details including location, duration of trip, size of suitcase and personal style preferences to receive a personalized style output with corresponding packing recommendations, made possible by Stitch Fix’s new team of Travel Style Advisors — all to ensure you’re perfectly prepared for your next adventure ahead.

“What makes our partnership with Tripadvisor so special is its ability to provide a fun, creative, and convenient solution for travelers that will alleviate style-related stressors during the height of vacation season,” Jenny Herr, head of trends at Stitch Fix — with ample experience forecasting fashion and retail trends to bring fresh styles to its clients each season — exclusively told the New York Post. “After discovering that nearly all of our clients plan to travel this summer, we were thrilled to leverage our expertise in personalization and trend forecasting with Tripadvisor’s rich travel insights to help travelers achieve their dream vacation looks.”

After visiting Tripadvisor’s Experience Hub, simply take the TSA quiz toward the bottom of the page to get started. From here, you’ll receive those personalized style recommendations that are specially designed to make packing as easy as can be.

Stitch Fix’s latest partnership is the perfect solution for the 1 in 3 travelers who feel stressed when packing, per a brand-administered survey. Its much-loved pieces are just as fashionable as they are functional, with its campaign ideal for mountain and beach vacations alike.

“In our newly released summer insights, we found that nearly all (92%) of our clients were planning to travel this summer,” Herr adds. “Our insights also revealed that the most popular summer styles coincided with top travel destinations, which Tripadvisor helped identify. Stitch Fix uncovered Beachcomber and Mediterranean Holiday as popular trends this summer, after discovering that nearly 2 in 3 (62%) clients were planning beach travel, with breezy fabrics and tropical prints top of their packing list.”

Oh, and you don’t want to miss Stitch Fix’s top four travel tips, either:

  1. Choose lightweight and breathable clothing: Especially when traveling in the hot and humid weather of summer, choose fabrics like cotton or linen (or, for a home run, moisture-wicking materials). These will help keep you cool when out-and-about.
  2. Bring versatile footwear: Shoes can add unnecessary weight in your suitcase when too many pairs are brought on your vacation. For this reason, Stitch Fix advises packing multi-purpose shoes that you love (and, most importantly, are comfortable).
  3. Roll or bundle your clothing: Though we love packing cubes, rolling your clothing into a cylindrical shape can help reduce the amount of weight in your suitcase, along with saving space. Even better, it helps minimize wrinkles, foregoing the need for a clothes steamer.
  4. Layering is key: Be sure to pack a lightweight cardigan or sweater, as temperatures are bound to fluctuate — even in the summer months. Not to mention, a tried-and-true denim jacket pairs with just about anything.

Want the 411 on other popular styles worth looking into ahead of your summer vacation? Herr shares even more aesthetics to tap into.

“Other must-have styles include Countryside Comfort and Sophisticated City Slicker as some travelers plan to escape the city, while others look forward to visiting bustling streets,” she notes. “Another top trend this year is Moonrise Kingdom, inspired by the Wes Anderson film and his colorful, quippy composition that is trending on TikTok with over 1.6B views, as 1 in 3 (34%) travelers plan to travel to the lake and to national parks (39%).”

So, what are you waiting for? Whether you’re just about to head to an adults-only all-inclusive resort, a Pinterest-inspired bachelorette trip, or a relaxing sea-sailing escapade on an Alaskan cruise, this new Stitch Fix and Tripadvisor collab is one of the hottest partnerships this year has to offer.
