When choosing a cheap Punta Cana resort, you should not expect high-end luxury, but you still can count on abundant food, unlimited all-inclusive, decent pool areas, tropical drinks and direct beach access (except for whala Bayahibe). Even if you are going to book the cheapest all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, you still have food, drinks, room, service, entertainment, pool, beach access and all further amenities included. This being said, even the most affordable resort options feed you well and get you happy, if you are not expecting the standards of a high-end resort. It’s impressive what you get even you are only paying a cheap 100 to 160 USD per night per room all-inclusive.
On the other side, it might pay off to pay a few extra bucks for a better resort if certain amenities are important for you, as explained in my all-inclusive guide about Punta Cana. To get this list of the cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana and the Dominican Republic, I took the price of a week in February (high season), June (low season) and August (shoulder/summer season) for 2 people. To compare the best prices, I used 3 of the biggest booking websites for Punta Cana: booking.com*, Expedia* and Apple Vacations*.
All of the cheap Dominican Republic resorts in Punta Cana mentioned in this article share the following characteristics:
– a week in a double room during the high season costs less than 1800 USD (less than 900 USD per person)
– a week in a double room during the summer season costs less than 1400 USD (less than 700 USD per person)
– a week in a double room during the low season costs less than 1200 USD (less than 600 USD per person)

The cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana
Whala Bavaro
Whala Bavaro is the first hotel on this list of the cheap resorts in the Dominican Republic and it might be the most interesting one if you are looking for a real bargain on your cheap Punta Cana vacation. With rates as low as 36 USD (!) per person per night in a double room (505 USD per week per room for a couple on a budget during low season), it is by far the cheapest all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. It doesn’t matter for which date you are searching, whala will nearly always pop up first when sorting your search results according to the lowest price – at least during the low and shoulder season.
Whala scores the top position as the cheapest all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana for the second time in a row. This is particularly thanks to their incredibly low prices during the low season. However, if you’re traveling between Christmas and Easter Holidays, whala is only the 5th cheapest resort in this part of the Dominican Republic, with Occidental Caribe, Impressive Resort, VIK Arena Blanca and RIU Naiboa usually being cheaper. Considering whala has its limitations, I would rather pick one of the other cheap Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts during these months, as they offer a better price-value ratio during the high season.
If you are flexible in terms of services, not too picky and know what you are paying, you can have a great time at whala Bavaro, especially as the rooms are surprisingly modern. The amenities whala is offering are quite impressive considering the low price, among them 4 pools, 3 bars and 2 restaurants. For an additional surcharge, you even have a fantastic sky bar (incl. a Japanese restaurant) and an infinity pool with ocean views at whala.
As indicated, whala Bavaro is by far the cheapest all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana. While you shouldn’t expect full resort services here (especially when it comes to activities, lounge areas or nightly entertainment), it is perfect for a cheap Punta Cana vacation, especially when combined with some low-cost flights. Guests reviews are mixed, but if you keep in mind what you are paying (or not paying), you can have a great holiday on a budget here.

Impressive Resort Punta Cana
The same as for 2022, Impressive Resort Punta Cana can also score the 2nd position for 2023 when it comes to the cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana.
Impressive Resort Punta Cana is located right at Bavaro Beach, the same beach as whala Bavaro. Therefore it works perfectly as well if you are looking for a cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana that allows you to go out on the street and explore the daily life of the Dominican Republic. On the other hand, it features a perfect stretch of beach in Punta Cana, particularly since it has been remodeled around 2 years ago. When the resort was still branded as a Sunscape Resort, it had one of the worst beaches along Bavaro due to erosion, but Impressive has done excellent work on that. You can even have a sunset dinner on the jetty with a marvelous view over the coastline.
The property is divided into two parts, Impressive Resort Punta Cana and Impressive Premium Punta Cana. The latter one is usually a bit more expensive (and with more premium amenities) and is described further below in this list of the best cheap hotels in Punta Cana. Impressive Resort Punta Cana is the cheaper one and gets position No. 2 with an average price of 149 USD per room per night (up from 135 USD in 2022). If you exclude whala Bavaro, which doesn’t have the typical layout of an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, Impressive is actually the cheapest hotel in Punta Cana. The resort features various bars and restaurants, a well-equipped gym, a teens and kids club perfect for families and of course a large pool area as well as beach access.
Impressive Resort Punta Cana is perfect for everyone who is looking for a decent all-in-one resort. Reviews are a bit mixed, but it has offers for families, couples and singles. Impressive Resort marks a great choice if you simply want a cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana with an attractive price-value ratio, both in low season and in high season.

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca
VIK Hotel Arena Blanca is a hidden (budget) gem in Punta Cana, which is often overlooked when asking for cheap hotel recommendations in Bavaro and the surrounding area. It is one of the few smaller hotels not belonging to one of the bigger chains nor located in a complex of 5 resorts, which makes it particularly interesting if you are looking for a cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana with a more intimate atmosphere. With less than 500 rooms it is also one of the smaller low-budget resorts.
The hotel is located along Arena Gorda beach, one of the beautiful beaches in Punta Cana. It features all amenities you expect from a cheap Punta Cana resort, such as daytime entertainment, night shows, sports program, kids club, tennis courts, a gym and non-motorized watersports, even though some of those facilities are a bit on the older end. With just 3 à-la-carte restaurants, VIK Hotel Arena Blanca is more at the lower end of the range, but this won’t be a problem if you prefer to eat at the buffet anyway. For some enhanced services and additional amenities, you can also check out the Cayena Beach section located at the same property.
VIK Hotel Arena Blanca is a perfect cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana for those preferring a quieter and smaller hotel, which can focus more on personalized service than the bigger resorts with 1000 rooms or more.
Compared to 2022, VIK Hotel Arena Blanca can again score the third position when it comes to the cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana 2023. During the high season (from Christmas until Easter Holidays), it might be even THE cheapest one (with lower prices than whala Bavaro and Impressive Punta Cana), depending on the dates you pick.
Important Note: compared to many other cheap resorts in Punta Cana, which have their lowest prices usually on the member programs of Booking.com* and Expedia*, the best prices of VIK Arena Blanca can be found with the American tour operator Apple Vacations*.

Occidental Caribe
Occidental Caribe is one of the most compact all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, and usually, it is among the cheapest hotels in the Bavaro area as well. The property is outstanding when it comes to the proximity to the beach of every room, as the entire hotel is beachside. Compared to other Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts, it doesn’t have a big garden nor is it a bungalow-style accommodation. It rather comes with a bigger (and not particularly beautiful) building, which has the aforementioned advantage of the remarkable proximity to the beach. Chances are high you even get a partial ocean view room due to the structure of the building.
Besides this, Occidental Caribe offers two large pool areas with a good amount of bars, which are serving an outstanding selection of popular brands, compared to other cheap all-inclusive resorts on the same price level. The buffet restaurant is mediocre at most, but the à-la-carte restaurants can count for some interesting food creations. The rooms are for sure not the fanciest ones, but they do their job and don’t lack basic amenities you would expect from a cheap Punta Cana resort.
Occidental Caribe is a perfect choice for budget-conscious travelers, who don’t care that much about modern design and inviting buffets, but who love direct beach access, good drinks and decent á-la-carte restaurants.
Compared to our 2022 edition of the cheapest resorts in Punta Cana, Occidental Caribe can repeat its 4th position from the previous year for 2023. They are still among the hotels with the lowest all-inclusive rates in the Dominican Republic, particularly during the high season.
As you can see, the first 4 resorts remain unchanged in the list of the cheapest hotels in Punta Cana when comparing the 2022 results with the new prices of 2023, but this will change with the next hotel, as last year’s No. 5, Grand Sirenis Punta Cana, completely fell off the list due to their raised prices.

RIU Naiboa
The first change when it comes to the cheap Punta Cana resorts 2023 is RIU Naiboa, which made up its ranking from 7 to position 5.
RIU Naiboa is, together with RIU Bambu, the cheapest all-inclusive resort within the RIU complex, which consists of those two hotels plus RIU Palace Bavaro, RIU Palace Macao and RIU Palace Punta Cana. It is located along the beautiful Arena Gorda Beach, even it is a short walk from RIU Naiboas’ rooms until you reach the ocean.
RIU Naiboa is a perfect option if you are looking for a cheap all-inclusive vacation in Punta Cana without forgoing on a popular hotel brand. You should not expect a luxury resort (particularly as the rooms are pretty basic and food options not as plentiful as in other Punta Cana all-inclusive resorts) but can count on a wide entertainment program and a well-maintained property. Wi-Fi is included on the entire property.

Grand Bahía Principe Punta Cana is one of the most popular all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana when looking for a cheap hotel in the Dominican Republic. Together with their identical sister property Grand Bahía Principe Bavaro (which is part of the best affordable resorts in Punta Cana), it is part of the large Bahía complex, which offers a total of 7 hotels (Ambar, Aquamarine, Bavaro, Esmeralda, Fantasía, Punta Cana, Turquesa) and so many amenities which are hard to beat by other resorts due to its sheer size.

When booking Grand Bahía Principe Punta Cana (or Bavaro) you can enjoy comfortable rooms, free Wi-Fi throughout the resort, a vast array of sports and entertainment, various pools and 1 hour (per day) complimentary watersports. You also have access to the neighboring properties Grand Bahía Principe Bavaro and Grand Bahía Principe Turquesa (the latter one still being closed as of November 2022). You can use all their facilities (except the buffets), which sums up the options of á-la-carte restaurants to a whopping amount of approx. 10, which is unbeatable by any other cheap all-inclusive resort. However, keep in mind that you only have three à-la-carte dinners per week included and that the resort is quite large to walk (which can be an added plus if you love spacious tropical gardens and lots of walking options).
Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana is a great option for everyone looking to maximize their value-for-money while still keeping their Dominican Republic vacations affordable, thanks to the various amenities of this huge all-inclusive resort.

Be Live Collection Punta Cana
Be Live Collection Punta Cana might be one of the best examples for cheap all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana: if you come with the expectation of a luxury resort (Be Live claims proactively to be a 5-star resort, which might cause irritations), you might get disappointed, but if you consider the affordable price you are paying, you will get an all-inclusive package well worth the money.
Considering this, it is not surprising that Be Live Punta Cana is one of the biggest winners in the list of the cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. Listed on rank 10 in the previous edition of this ranking, it now offers better prices compared to its competitors and therefore can score position No. 7.
Just take care that the Be Live Collection Punta Cana reviews have deteriorated a bit over the last year – from 7.5 in the end of 2020 to 6.9 at the end of 2021 and 6.6 for our 2023 edition of the best cheap Punta Cana hotels. Be Live Collection Punta Cana is located in Cabeza de Toro, a separate part of Punta Cana with just a few other all-inclusive resorts. Cabeza de Toro has a pristine beach once you pass the resort area but doesn’t feature the mile-long gorgeous stretch you find in the main Bavaro area. On the other side, it has some ok snorkeling options right off the beach, which is the best you can find right in Punta Cana.
When booking Be Live Collection Punta Cana, you can expect – considering the affordable price – ok rooms, plenty of pools and a big selection of entertainment and activities. There are also plenty of à-la-carte restaurants, even not all of them can convince entirely and the reservation policy is a bit restricted (a certain amount of reservations are granted depending on the length of your stay).
Be Live Collection is a perfect cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana for everyone looking for an easy, fun and value-for-money Punta Cana vacation. If you don’t expect a high-end luxury resort, you will be pleasantly surprised about this affordable all-inclusive resort in Cabeza de Toro, even though it has some up- and downsides and other resorts of this list might offer a better price-value ratio.

Impressive Premium Punta Cana
If you are planning a cheap Punta Cana vacation but want to travel in style, you definitely should consider Impressive Premium Punta Cana. It is one of the cheap hotels in Punta Cana on this list that takes a premium approach to the services and offers better quality than the average cheap resort. Among the two Impressive Resorts in Punta Cana which are located next to each other, Impressive Premium is the higher tier.
The resort has a prime location right between Corales and El Cortecito, with both public beach areas (incl. their restaurants and bars) being within walking distance. This is especially helpful if you’d like to immerse yourself in local life.
But you don’t have to leave this cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana if you don’t want to, there is enough to do right at the hotel. Daily activities, a fully-equipped gym, several pools or a busy swim-up bar will keep you busy for a couple of days. You can also enjoy the fantastic beach right at the hotel or book a romantic dinner on the pier looming into the ocean. In general, the quality of food and the selection of drinks is higher at Impressive Premium Punta Cana compared to its little sister Impressive Punta Cana, the other cheap resort in the Dominican Republic of this brand.

Riu Bambu is one of two newcomers when it comes to the 10 cheapest hotels in Punta Cana 2023. With an average price of exactly 200 USD per double room per night (less in the low season, more during the high season), it offers affordable rates, particularly for social people and families.
Riu Bambu is officially considered a club hotel, which means you have a particularly large choice of activities and entertainment. Plenty of pools, an always active entertainment team, 8 restaurants and many options for sports and watersports are characterizing this cheap Punta Cana all-inclusive resort. Just the rooms are more on the basic side, but considering you’re coming here to enjoy the beach and the activities, this should be bearable. Talking about the beach, Riu Bambu is located at the beautiful Arena Gorda Beach, with plenty of palm trees, the finest sand and options in both directions for endless beach walks.
As the name might imply, Riu Bambu is part of the large Riu Punta Cana property, which means you have full access to all the shared amenities of the resort, such as:
– one of the biggest water parks in Punta Cana, the Riu Splash Water World (perfect for toddlers, kids and teens)
– the Riu Pacha discotheque, open every night and home to all night owls from 5 resorts
– the Riu Party venue, home to some of the most spectacular parties in Punta Cana
– the casino at Riu Palace Macao
If you don’t need modern or fancy rooms, Riu Bambu is a perfect example of how to combine a huge amount of facilities and amenities, lots of restaurant options and a great beach location with low and affordable prices.

Catalonia Punta Cana is the second new entrant among the 10 cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana – and it is one of the best ones as well, which is underlined by the fact that Catalonia Punta Cana (or Catalonia Bavaro or Catalonia Bavaro Beach – the wording sometimes varies due to the marketing strategy of Catalonia) is also one of the top 3 affordable resorts in Punta Cana, which are sorted by quality rather than just the price.
If I would have to pick one out of the 10 cheap Punta Cana resorts here on this list as my top recommendation, it would probably be Catalonia Punta Cana. This is particularly due to some pretty cool features, among them:
– a super large buffet with one of the best salad stations among Punta Canas’ resorts
– a new juice bar right at the beach with freshly prepared natural smoothies
– easy reservations for à-la-carte restaurants
– cheap upgrades to the Platinum section with super modern rooms
– wonderful tropical gardens and regular activities for active and social guests
The praises for Catalonia Punta Cana are not coming without a reason. Usually, after 3 to 4 nights in an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, I get bored pretty quickly but here at Catalonia Punta Cana – we stayed 10 nights due to work – I was visiting the buffets or amenities every day as joyful as on the first day. This is due to the large selection at the buffet and the multiple activities. Even the à-la-carte restaurants we were happily repeating. Just the drinks fell a bit short at Catalonia Punta Cana with just a few options of international brand liquors. But considering the prices at this cheap resort in Punta Cana, you can’t have everything.
Catalonia Punta Cana is a multi-generational resort and a suitable option for families and adults alike. While it is not a family resort in Punta Cana per sé, it offers a couple of family amenities such as a section for children at the buffet, family junior suites or a kids club. Adults will enjoy the occasional pool parties, a large range of activities as well as the elegant beach club in the Privileged section (as long as a Privileged room is booked)

The best cheap all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana’s surrounding
Punta Cana is not the only option where you can find cheap all-inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic. If none of the cheap hotels above suits you, you can also check Bayahibe, a small village just less than an hour away from Punta Cana. Bayahibe is particularly famous for its crystal-clear water, its seaweed-free beaches and the much more low-key vibe compared to Punta Cana. Bayahibe has (mainly) maintained its character as a quiet fishing village.
Therefore, when flying into Punta Cana International Airport, it is just a quick transfer to Bayahibe – one of the reasons why it marks a great alternative to Punta Cana. Most Punta Cana excursions are also possible from Bayahibe.

Whala Bayahibe
Whala Bavaro is the cheapest Punta Cana resort, and whala Bayahibe is the cheapest hotel with all-inclusive in Bayahibe. The concepts are pretty similar as whala Bayahibe offers a no-frills resort where you find everything to get happy but not many additional amenities. Rooms are on the older side and entertainment and activities are close to non-existent, but on the other hand, you’ll have an incredible beachfront location with fantastic sunset views, a buffet restaurant serving three meals a day, a snack restaurant and bar right at the ocean, 1 à-la-carte restaurant (reservations required) and a centric pool which features ocean views as well.
Particularly considering the prices in low season, when whala Bayahibe is the cheapest all-inclusive resort in the Dominican Republic (together with whala Bavaro* and whala Boca Chica*), the price-value ratio here is a steal! Paying around 75 USD per double room per night and having all meals and drinks included is an incomparable bargain. However, I would recommend factoring in one or two meals outside of the resort to allow you some culinary diversification. A great thing is that whala Bayahibe is strategically located in the village of Dominicus, hence you have a couple of restaurants to choose from after walking 5-10 minutes.
Furthermore, whala Bayahibe is also not a resort where you’re getting entertained the entire day, hence it is perfect if you’d like to explore the Dominican Republic on your own or with guided excursions anyway. Also if you’re looking for a beautiful beach, you should better pick whala Bavaro than whala Bayahibe.

Be Live Collection Canoa
Another cheap all-inclusive resort in Punta Canas’ surroundings is Be Live Collection Canoa, which offers similar services and amenities to its sister hotel in Punta Cana (which is already presented above), Be Live Collection Punta Cana. Also, the rating is similar, scoring a 6.5/10 on Booking.com and a better 3.8/5.0 on Tripadvisor.
The biggest draw of this cheap hotel in Bayahibe is its beach, as it is located directly at the beautiful Dominicus Beach with super turquoise water. There is also a popular jetty with an à-la-carte restaurant called Pelicano Beach Club, which, however, has to be paid extra if you’d like to eat there.
However, considering the cheap prices of Be Live Collection Canoa, it is a decent choice for a cheap trip to Punta Cana, especially when booking one of the better room categories, which have beautifully decorated and renovated rooms. With those rooms – especially when booking the VIP package at Be Live Collection Punta Cana – you also have better chances of getting reservations for the à-la-carte restaurants at Be Live Collection Canoa which are a bit hard to achieve sometimes.
When looking for a cheap all-inclusive resort in this part of the wider Punta Cana area, you can also check out Catalonia Bayahibe as an alternative to Be Live Collection Canoa. It is usually a bit more expensive, but still among the cheaper options in Bayahibe and with higher quality compared to Be Live Canoa.

(Great) All-Inclusive Hotels, which are not among the top 10 cheapest resorts in Punta Cana anymore
Grand Sirenis Punta Cana
One of the resorts, which was among the top 10 cheap all-inclusive hotels in Punta Cana in 2022, but now has dropped from the list for 2023 is Grand Sirenis Punta Cana. But this isn’t so much of a surprise if you consider that Grand Sirenis Punta Cana is one of the best family all-inclusive resorts among the cheaper Punta Cana hotels on this list. It got completely remodeled in 2019 and therefore features a brand-new design, super modern and comfortable rooms and authentic restaurants with delicious food. Furthermore, you can enjoy a large tropical garden and beautiful views. They also have a kids and a teens club, special family suites and particular entertainment for children.
Considering the modern design and the mentioned amenities, which all come in very good quality, it was more or less foreseeable that Grand Sirenis Punta Cana drops out of the list of the cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. After their renovations in 2019 and the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, they had to offer the resorts’ rooms below their actual value for a longer time to make sure the public get to know about the enhanced amenities and the contemporary design. Now, as everything has settled back to normal and the “new” Grand Sirenis is widely known, they can charge rates that are more reasonable considering the value Grand Sirenis Punta Cana is offering.
One of the main reasons why Grand Sirenis is a great family resort is the Sirenis Aquagames water park, which is one of the biggest water parks in Punta Cana. It is great fun for kids of all ages, as it features some monster slides, smaller pools and also a lot of water games for smaller children.
The water park is included in your all-inclusive stay at Grand Sirenis Punta Cana, which makes it an even better deal for a cheap Punta Cana family vacation, considering that the average price in the low season is below 75 USD per person per night in double occupancy.

Serenade Punta Cana
Another cheap resort that was dropping out for 2023 is Serenade Punta Cana. And this definitely is not a surprise, as I was already writing last year:
It is actually a big surprise that Serenade makes it into this list of the best cheap resorts in the Dominican Republic. A surprise, because Serenade Punta Cana offers such a high quality and so many great services for being a cheap all-inclusive resort. You have unlimited à-la-carte dinners, super modern rooms, many international premium alcohol brands and even comfortable bali beds right at the pool. Furthermore, Serenade Punta Cana is also one of the resorts in Punta Cana with a water park.
The reason why Serenade belongs to the cheap Punta Cana resorts is probably that they are still selling their opening rate and trying to get a share of the market. The resort was just opened at the end of 2020, hence everything is brand new. 178 USD average rate per night per room is a super attractive price considering that it is a brand-new resort – and earns Serenada Punta Cana a well-deserved spot on this list of the cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. They are offering such a high quality, that they are even one of the top picks for our most affordable resorts in Punta Cana.
For 2023, Serenade Punta Cana is finally able to charge the rates they want, which is why they are not part of the 10 cheapest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana anymore.
The low season price has increased from 123 USD per double room per night to 217 USD per double room per night, the high season price for the year 2023 is now 325 USD per double room per night instead of the 219 USD formerly charged.
This is much more than the average cheap resort in Punta Cana. In fact, they have raised their prices so much that they even have dropped out of the selection of the best affordable all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana, as they now charge more than the maximum requirement (to make it to the list) of 2000 USD per week per double room in the high season.
Serenade Punta Cana is not a high-end resort, but it does have elegant touches and upgraded amenities compared to other cheap Punta Cana hotels.
Serenade Punta Cana is located beachfront in Cabeza de Toro, a separate area a little bit southeast of Bavaro Beach. It has several à-la-carte restaurants and a similar amount of bars with remarkable premium spirits. Pool, beach access, bars and entertainment are included as well. Serenade is another all-in-one resort geared towards the vast majority of travelers, such as families, couples and groups.
