GRANDFATHERED DOT COM. DID YOU SEE THAT LAST NIGHT? THE NORTHERN LIGHTS WERE CAPTURED AT OVERNIGHT ACROSS PARTS OF THE COUNTRY, INCLUDING NORTH CAROLINA AND VIRGINIA. PETER FORRESTER SENT THESE PICTURES TO US FROM SHENANDOAH VALLEY, VIRGINIA APSO LUTELY GORGEOUS. TYPICALLY THE NORTHERN LIGHTS ARE ONLY VISIBLE IN FAR NORTHERN PLACES SUCH AS THE ARCTIC, NORTHERN CANADA, AND SOMETIMES ALASKA.

The aurora borealis, or the northern lights, are on many bucket lists, and if you were at the right place at just the right time, you might have been lucky enough to see it Thursday night. Vibrant colors danced across the night sky. Reports of sightings included along the Blue Ridge Parkway just outside of Asheville. Peter Forister Photography captured the stunning images and explosion of colors over the Shenandoah Valley. “This night will go down in my memory as one of the most unexpected but remarkable experiences I’ve had living in Virginia,” Peter Forister posted on his Facebook page.
