A San Diego woman is accused of embezzling $415,000 compensated for a university journey canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic, California officers say.

A San Diego-based journey agent refused to refund dad and mom $415,000 compensated toward a school trip canceled during the COVID-19 pandemic, California prosecutors reported.
She put in the funds, meant for an 8th-grade excursion to the East Coast, on credit history card buys, hire, and artwork in its place of reservations, officers mentioned.
“More than 150 California people set apart their really hard-gained revenue to give their small children the instructional chance of a life span,” point out Lawyer General Rob Bonta claimed in a Monday, Dec. 5, news release. “Instead, the vacation was canceled, and their dollars disappeared.”
The agent faces fees which include 27 counts of grand theft, the launch mentioned.
